David graduated from the University of Hawaii with a BBA in Finance, with Distinction. David is a Senior Investment Advisor Representative at Mosaic Pacific and oversees the firm's Retirement Plan clients.  He brings over 33 years of industry experience to Mosaic Pacific, specializing in Investment Management, Retirement Plans, and Accumulation and Distribution Planning.

 

David began his career in 1985 as a security analyst and portfolio manager with a Hawaii Registered Investment Advisor.  In 1988 he was recruited by a large brokerage firm as a Senior Performance Analyst to assist large pension and profit sharing plans with Investment Policy development, Asset Allocation studies, Investment Manager searches, and Performance Measurement and Evaluation.  David’s area was responsible for overseeing over $500 million.  In 1991 he was recruited by Bishop Trust Co. to develop and manage their Investment Services and Communications division, which he continued following an acquisition by Bank of Hawaii in 1993.  In 1996, David left the bank to became a founding principal of an SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm that grew to over $165 million before it was acquired by a Hawaii bank in 2008, where David became Senior Vice President and Manager of the Wealth Management Division, in charge of the Employee Benefits division, the Trust division, and Private Banking.   In 2011, David left the bank to form Investment Management Hawaii, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor which grew to over $160 million.  David merged Investment Management Hawaii into Mosaic Pacific Investment Advisors in 2019.

 

David is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Phi Beta Kappa (academic honor society for the Liberal Arts and Sciences), and Beta Gamma Sigma (academic honor society for Business). He has lectured on Investment Management and taught Retirement Planning classes to both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, as well as Cannon Financial Institute, a national bank, Trust, and Investment professional education organization.

 

David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®).
